'Message in a Bottle' with Pennie Jagiello
Following it's success from Melbourne, the National Gallery of Victoria and Perth, the Message in a Bottle Workshop is finally coming to Sydney!
Pennie Jagiello, well known for her signature use of recycled electrical wire and extensive background in only working with found and repurposed man made materials, shares her passion to raise awareness for the impacts we have on marine environments through her jewellery and objects.
Straight from a residency in Port Hedland and the Pilbara, Pennie offers Sydney makers the opportunity to join the challenge of creating a wearable neckpiece using materials not traditionally associated with making jewellery, but materials that we are all familiar with.
Over two exciting fun filled days at Object Gallery, participants will follow a series of steps with unexpected twists and turns, be challenged to deconstruct man made debris and any preconceived ideas of how and with what jewellery is made, and to never look at your recycling in the same way again!
No prior jewellery making experience necessary, participants need only to have an open mind. Places are limited - be sure to book early here to avoid disappointment.
